It's so glad to see your message.

The entence " ni ye lai yi kuai ?" means "Do you want a piece?", we can also say " 你也来一块吗？ni ye lai yi kuai ma?" . Sometimes in spoken language, we can omit 'ma' here, because the intonation of the speaker indicate that it's a question here.

'还是"is used to compare, after compared "牛肉干niurou gan" and "薯片和巧克力shupian he qiaokeli" , the speaker still thought "薯片和巧克力shupian he qiaokeli" are better.

Here are some examples:

葡萄酒很好喝，但是我还是喜欢啤酒。

pútao jiǔ hěn hǎohē, dànshì wǒ háishì xǐhuān píjiǔ.

Wine is tasty, but I still prefer beer.

下棋不好玩，我们还是去打篮球吧。

xiàqí bù hǎowán, wǒmen háishì qù dǎ lánqiú ba.

Playing chess is no fun, Let's go to play basketball.

B:  Ni ye lai yi kuai? 你也来一块?  why is this a question sentence?  I do not see 吗 at the end of sentence.  Nor is there a negative 不.  can it be a suggestion with ba吧 at end of sentence? 你也来一块吧.

A. 零食我还是喜欢薯片和巧克力.  haishi seems to be used as a comparison. meaning is " after all"  .  Please give me some other examples of 还是 when comparing things.

Hi Marchon,

There are  not much difference between the two words, most of time they are the same.

这部电影最近很流行。 / 这部电影最近很受欢迎。

This movie is very popular recently.

but 流行音乐（pop music）、 流行歌曲（pop song）、流行歌星 ( pop star) are a kind of set phrases, we can not use 受欢迎 to replace 流行here.

If the words followed 尤其 is a noun, we always use 尤其是, but if the words followed 尤其is an adjective or a verb, we do not use 是.

For example,

新西兰的天气很舒服，尤其是夏天。

我尤其喜欢新西兰的天气。

这里的四川菜尤其好吃。
