三十多块 means 30~40

五十多块 mean 40~50

You can see the numbers are all start from something shi2 (decimal)，not a exact number in between like 15 or 16.

So 十五多厘米doesnt make sense.

But 十五厘米多 means 15～16 cm.

If you want to say 15~20cm, the only way is to say like this "15到20厘米"。多 can not be used here.

Here are some more examples:

100多块 means 100~200, not just 100~110.

1000多块 means 1000~2000

1500多块 means 1500～1600

Actually, 你可以那么说，but it would be better to say something more to complete the sentence in order to make it easier to understand the context. Just like what you said above, "I will switch to English ". That way it is really funny and is full of sense of hummor.

I am travelling and don't have a computer that allows me to type Chinese.    :-(

I won't be able to take your call today as I am on Europe time (I am in Madrid, Spain).

I have visited 10 countries in the last two weeks (U.S., Norway, Denmark, India, Russia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France & Spain).  I visit England on Tuesday for a total of 11 countries this month!!!   I am practicing my Chinese every day.

Should I have said:
