Anyone else watching 蜗居? I watched a few episodes. I wish I had a Chinese transcript, so I could study it in advance. Does anyone know a place to find these? If you haven't seen it, you can check it out at PPS.tv

Ah I wasn't really thinking that Changye. "You can't be real!" was said in the sense of "you're kidding right?". But hmm I see what you mean. I have no idea why anyone would do that!

I can't prove that yamakawaseiyu is not a Japanese, but I also feel the guy is not a Japanese. If this is the case, what do you think is the guy's purpose of saying "我是日本人" here? In any case, I suppose that, at least, pretending to be a Japanese won't hurt you, except in a few anti-Japan states in East Asia, hehe.

这是在中国非常有影响力的一部连续剧，不过呢，最近被一个叫做“国家广电总局”的组织被封杀了，理由是：并没有反应真实的中国。其实这是扯淡，就是因为反映了真实的社会事实才被禁止播出的，所以呢，奉劝你有机会一定要看，因为这才是真实的中国现状，中国现在的生活方式已跟过去有所不同了。

Daniel, I am not sure about that program. I think a lot of my friends use it in Windows, and haven't mentioned any serious problems, but I would definitely be careful. Anyway, I play it in Ubuntu (totem has a PPStream plugin), which ought to be safe.

Peter, I don't want the English translation, that's too confusing. I want the Chinese characters, this way I can easily look up the words I can't understand, especially when the guys speak. I need the characters written down since I don't read fast enough to read subtitles on the screen. Thanks for the link to the original novel.
