反动 or 反动份子 (reactionary)

December 07, 2009 at 03:02 PM posted in General DiscussionThat's not a real slang word but 反动份子 (fǎndòngfènzi) when used satirically by a westerner seems to be quite disconcerting. Besides its original meaning I wonder what could be its modern meaning ?
eg: 你这个反动份子 !

Hi kimiik
That's right. So "这个孩子很听话" means "This child is reasonable."

Ok I think I now get the meaning behind "不听话" : not listen to what is said ... being difficult or annoying.

Hi Changye,
That's exactly the point here. I also didn't hear it in a conversation but during an argument it just "popped to my mind" ...
(correction)
What do you mean by "不听话" ? Disobedience ?

December 07, 2009 at 06:09 PMYes, when you put it in a sentence the meaning is obvious. But as an exclamation ... that was confusing.
