@jimmieb,

As Daniel has said, when you are in a lesson, there is a grey cog on the top right hand side of the page labelled "lesson settings" . if you click that a box will pop up allowing you to change your character set.

There's a little cog wheel on the right hand side of the lesson page. It calls up a settings dialog that lets you make the switch.
