Mandarin Manga

July 25, 2009, 04:43 AM posted in General DiscussionThought I'd improve my reading skills by having a crack at chinese comic books, but can only find ones in traditional characters on the Interweb ( e.g. "YesAsia" ). Anyone know of a source offering the fare in simplified characters ? It would help if the order page is in English because even with translation software it's difficult to be sure what I'm doing.
Alternatively, is there any kind soul willing to order for me (after receiving requisite genuine photograph of £5 note or signed IOU, of course) ??

July 28, 2009, 01:36 PMI have a copy of the Japanese Manga 'Crying Freeman' in Chinese. It's a large file so send me a PM with your email (actually I could just grab it from the crm, but It'd be easier if you just pm it to me) then I can set up a drop.io and u can access it.

July 28, 2009, 02:10 PMI have a few books I bought in Shanghai in 2007, may be not Manga as we think of Japanese mangas, but comic books nonetheless, e.g. the 150cm series (2) and (3), 一个人的第一次 and a few others.
They are all in simplified characters, main challenge being deciphering the handwritting (or the typeface to that effect). They looked fun when I bought them, but I never really got around to reading them.
I am willing to ship a couple of them free of charge. Please send me email if you're interested.

July 26, 2009, 05:28 AMI am not sure about the simplified character requirement, but I have found a nice selection of "free" ebook comics by searching the web.
You can search for example :
"chinese (simplified) comics rapidshare"
If you can't find anything this way, send me an email : misterlinguistix@gmail.com
