I'm not a New Zealander but I'm currently living in Timaru and if there is anybody else from Timaru in this group perhaps studying together from time to time might be helpfull.

I have been listening to these podcasts for a few years now and just signed up for a guided subscription, it is so great.

I can't believe that I get a call from a teacher in China once a week to help motivate me in my learning!

This style of learning really suits me.

I can learn on ChinesePod and then go out to work and have a conversation with my Mandarin-speaking workmates. Well, not *yet*, but that's the plan. :P

Yup!

Great place to be learning mandarin, and heaps of opportunities to be using it.  Just wish I started a long time ago :)
