be careful when you write that word.^_^
旱is 日ri above and 干gan below.

Seriously, it's going to be a tough year for Chinese farmers. A great number of migrant workers (= farmers) have already lost their jobs in coastal areas and reluctantly returned home, only to find dried-up farmlands. Fortunately, the present situation is better here in northeast China than in other regions. I just hope it would eventually be "久旱逢甘雨". (blessed rain after a long drought)
