Chinese recognition software for Mac?

October 26, 2008 at 12:44 AM posted in General DiscussionBecause I want to practise my handwriting, I write everything with pen and paper, and then type it up on my Mac so I don't have to keep wads of paper. Ideally, I would like to be able to handwrite directly onto my Mac. Which brings me to my question: does anyone use Chinese handwriting recognition software on their Mac?

Hi all,
I'm working and living in Beijing (not in that order) and have had an Apple MacBook for about a year now.
I've noticed that when I type Chinese using PINYIN it doesn't behave like the MS system used to. Seems confusing. Which is better do you think?

Thanks cowspeak. Sorry my question wasn't very clear. I know about the keyboard input method, but my question is actually about handwriting recognition software for the Mac.

In your Systems Preference, go to International icon (on top) and click on the Simplified Chinese button. Under the Input menu. Than when you will type in Pinyin sound of the word the computer will give you option words to choose from. and that how they type in China.
