Hi there

Does anyone have issues with the self study feed not updating?

I am subscribed to Intermediate, News and Features, Qing Wen, Beijing Standard Time andKTV Time. The last time it work properly was the 28th Sept. Since then it has been playing up.

My podcast feed is working now. Over several weeks I am getting all the lessons I subscribe to. I use pocketcast for andriod.

No more cultural show these days. I miss Beijing standard time.

I can't get lessons that I'm bookmarking to show up in my podcast feed. They are there on my ChinesePod self-study page, but I really want the podcasts on my iphone as I listen to them on the metro. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have up on the app a long time ago because I just couldn't get it to work right on my iphone. I tried the android app and it crashed my tablet as soon as I tried to initiate a download (it tried to download the content an infinite number of times until I managed to hard reset the device). I'll try the iphone app again...

seems to be a pretty common system failure at CPod. See here:

I think the "back end restructuring" has been the explanation offered since at least last November. Maybe they are going to eliminate podcasting altogether. I notice that there was no reply to my question about our concerns becoming "irrelevant."

You could try using the mobile app, but no guarantee that you will always have access to your content in the way that you would with your iTunes feed.

Since it does not work perfectly is there an ftp address or torrent we can use to download bulk lessons. I like to do this and put on my USB key for use in my car.

At the moment I have this kinda of manual workaround using the chinesepod app on my Andriod then wrote a script in DOS to consoldiate it on my system to the one directory (as each lesson has its own directory).

Yes, I have had this problem for a long time too intermittently . I've just double checked my subscription settings, and I am still subscribed to every level/show but they don't turn up on my dashboard under the self-study tab, and more importantly, they are not turning up in itunes. So I have to manually search for the new lesson and then bookmark it. After that it shows up both in dashboard and itunes. While it's intermittent, it is happening regularly including currently.

Yeah its on and off. Its not working now either. Its a bit of a pain. Anyway I still enjoy the lessons.

Yeah, the lesson feed isn't working for me either, and hasn't been for quite a few weeks now. I always hesitate to report it, since it seems like every couple of months there's a problem with it again. Usually the outage doesn't last this long though...

Hey Matt,

Do you have an active subscription? If not this could be part of the issue. But assuming you do, are you typically accessing through the web? And if so, what browser? It's not a common problem so my feeling is that it would be on your end, not ours. But I would like to help you get to the bottom of it, so please provide us with some more information and we will begin troubleshooting the issue.

Yes I do have an active subscription. Sometimes I log onto web but mostly I use the chinesepod app , pocketcast and sometimes use the podcast app.

Now my latest podcast lesson is the Personal Finances from the 5th Nov then I have some from the 25th of Oct (lost dog) then before that 27th of Sept - Shaven dog. I also subscribe to qingwen / BST / KTV. The last BST was 22nd of Sept , KTV was the 13th of Oct.

Is it possible to use FTP given the self study feed does not work anymore?
