Cool one heruilin. The rhythm of it makes it sound brazilian portuguese!

I love the rhythm of

必不可少的

(bi4 bu4 ke3 sha3 de)

for something that's absolutely necessary, .e.g.

我覺得中文播客是必不可少的。

再見,

Well be these I think. :)

"I love FIREFLY!"

我爱《萤火虫》!

"I'm a Browncoat!"

我是“反抗军”!

"Are you a Browncoat?"

你是“反抗军”吗?

"Have you seen Firefly?"

你看了《萤火虫》吗?

My favorite phases that I don't know how to say yet:

"I love FIREFLY!" (the TV show)

"I'm a Browncoat!"

"Are you a Browncoat?" or

"Have you seen Firefly?"

:)

Although I still don't know the song by heart and it sure is quite childish, I like walking around singing to myself:

我是一只小小小鸟 啦啦啦 。。。

(I am NOT at all mimicking something like flapping my little wings or such likes ...)

How about "would you please point that thing away from me?!"

你流血了! (You're bleeding!)

It amuses me to no end that I cannot remember the word for "hotel," but since this was one of the first phrases I ever learned, it's stuck in my memory forever.

Mine is food related, survival Chinese:

新鲜 的 xin1xian1 de, FRESH.

To ask at the street vendor if their wares are fresh, or to specify that I want a fresh one, or to protest when the McD's or KFC employees are trying to give me cold french fries or potatoes. I am terrible at remembering tones and the double first tone makes it so easy to say.

Oops typo there, should be 我忘记带钱包了。

The other sentence says 'I forgot to bring person living abroad'. lol

I suggest the following for "don't panic":

在十八分钟以后 我们要去除地球了。不恐慌吧。

我是无所不能机器. I've gone for the completely useless favourite phrase here: "I am the omnipotent robot". It's in the same vein as such favourites like "je suis un ananas!"

Bazza,

你喜欢经常准备也出去吗?哈哈。

我的是:

没门儿 (No way!)

慢慢来 (remembering to learn that the hard way, as I would always rush things)

慢走

I guess I then like no way to go about things, or slow ways to do them. :P

Calkins,

We had a discussion about the meaning last month on the forum.

http://forum.chinesepod.com/viewtopic.php?p=20185#20185

For me, it means "there's always smaller breasts" (there's always worse).

bbjt, what does that mean? The translations I got was:

One bosom still has one bosom to let droop. :)

One of my favs is:

開燈

kāi dēng

open the light

Ahhhh, the efficiency of Chinese!
