The iPhone app is my main mode of chinesepod access, and I am always looking for updates.

Since the release of 2.0 there has been a lot of promise that the new platform was going to deliver many new features very quickly, and be as good as the old app.

Just wondering if there's any update on this, it's been a year and I am very interested to see a feature release plan, or any info at all!

Hi Root,

Things are still moving on iPhone development. We have a new developer who will be working on the iPhone app as well as a dedicated iPad app. There is no word on a timeline, but the apps are going to be built from scratch, and we're all excited to see how the new versions come out.

Best,

JC

Oh yes, this is indeed very exciting news, I was very disappointed in V2, after having used V1 for just a litttle bit. I do hope V3 will be better. I now have lots of ideas, if anyone needs to collect user stories, I volunteer to be on the user team !! I am in Shanghai, would be very happy to help out.

PS: As a side note, please don't let these iphone apps go completely by the wayside. Pretty much the main reason I signed up for the website was the now non-existent "ChinesePod Quick Review" app. Prior to using it I thought there was no need to sign up for the website, but after having experienced the awesomeness that synergy of combining search with CPod content -- I was sold and signed up for the premium service a month later. Funny enough, the app was actually always free, and has since been discontinued and pulled from the appstore.

PPS: Please please bring back the quick review app or integrate search and explore functions into the new main app!!

Re. "the apps are going to be built from scracth": Are you taking suggestions? If so,

1. Make is searchable, please

2. Please be sure that it does not wipe out the entire table of contents rendering it useuless if the user tries to refresh when Internet connectivity is not available (this longstanding bug seems to still exist).

3. Could you make the audio player capable of rewinding by a fixed amount of time (30 seconds) and playing at different speeds, as the iPod player does?

Thanks
