Problem with Android App

I've tried a few times now to get the android app to work on my HTC desire s.

I've downloaded the app, opened it, at which point it asks me to sign in / sign up. When I click sign in it re-directs me to the website which just crashes everytime I enter my login details. Same thing happens when I dont use the app and just head straight to the website.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips on how I can get it to work?

Just wanted to let you know that the issue seems to have been fixed. My apologies for the interruption of service.

Hi fingaz1984,

The problem is the result of an updated SSL certificate on the server that processes the login running into a bug in Android's HTTP library, and causing the browser to crash. We're working on getting a new certificate installed, and will have it up and running as soon as possible.

Thanks for good idea, anyway. Next version will check available space on SD card before starting downloading. And if there is no enough space to save a file, then app will respond with more informative error message :)

I'm not able to download anything at all now, even from old lessons.

"Sorry, we could not download the audio file. Please try again later."

Even individual expansion and dialog sentences, which were working before, are getting the error now. Deleting and synching did not help.

I logged out of the app, powered off the phone, powered it back on, and signed in to the app again.

On a dialog sentence, I got "could not download".

On a lesson file (Evolving Chinese Terms of Address), I'm getting the "backwards" behavior again. E.g. one minute its

Downloading... 0% (12K of 7813K)

then

Downloading... 0% (6K of 7813K)

and now negative numbers

Download... 0% (-6158B of 7813K)

Hi,

Try deleting the lesson files and syncing your feed again. If the download doesn't work, we'll have to further investigate this issue.

Thanks,

JC

OK, version 2.1.4 showed up and I downloaded it.

Still having problems, but the symptoms are different.

For example, Visa Issues Lesson --

the download started and then stalled at 86%. Now what is shows is a slowly but steadily decreasing amount completed. E.g.

Downloading... 86% (8322K of 9626K)

This first number DECREASES slowly. Was 8322K when I first wrote the above, now it is at 8314K.

Some other files actually show a negative number as the count. This goes on indefinitely.

Sounds hopeful. The new version hasn't shown up yet as being available.

There is a new version of the Android app out today which fixes the download problem.

Because of the issues we've had with downloads in China, we decided to switch media hosts. The older version of the app was not designed to connect to the new media host we're using, causing the problem. But, we're happy to say, everything is back to normal.

I'm having the same issue alexlexilu describes. It started Friday. I CAN download individual dialog and expansion sentences, but CANNOT download any "Listen!" files, i.e. dialog and lesson files.

The files appear in the Download Queue and stay there forever, draining the battery. The only way to get them out of the queue is to log out and log back in.

There is another issue the past two days. I cannot download any audio file on the app. The lesson content and flash cards work but the audio files forever stay in queue and write download progress 0%... Very frustrating cuz I almost only use the phone + app... Not much the computer... And the site has no mobile version so its hard to use...

Another issue... New lesson realeased dont appear anymore unless I go on web site and bookmark them first...

The app is practicle but lacking a lot of features from website.... Since ur product is for busy people on the go.. U should come up with mobile site or better more complete app....
