RSS/iTunes Feed

Hi everyone,

We've been getting a lot of emails over the past couple weeks about this, so I figured I'd put this information on the boards and hopefully save some of you a bit of time.

*****

We have had some issues with the RSS feed in recent weeks. The glitches have since been resolved. To reactivate your feed, I recommend you take the following steps:

1. Log out and then log back in.

2. Resubscribe to the feed and refresh your settings.

For iTunes users, to refresh your feed, click the "cog" icon on your dashboard, opening your subscription settings. Then copy the feed address and paste it into your iTunes.

Please let us know if the problems continue.

Thanks,

JC

Hi,

I just rediscovered ChinesePod and wanted to link it with my iTunes. When I copy the RSS URL to my Self-Study Podcast, I find the episodes I bookmarked being ready to download. After a while, I see the message behind the episode, e.g. "31.0 KB of 7.8 MB - stopped (err = -3259)". Other Podcasts from other sources than ChinesePod can be downloaded without problem!

This happens to all the episodes I've bookmarked. Anybody has some information that could help me? I expected this to work, since I pay for the account...?!

I'm using an iMac with the newest iTunes version 10.6.

Best regards,

Michael

Hey JC,

Thanks for the information! It's good news... thought already I'm too stupid to handle iTunes :)

All the best,

Michael

Hi Michael,

China based users have been having some trouble accessing media files over the past week or so. We've run tests on our servers, and based on those results and past experience, this seems to be a temporary problem with the Chinese telecom system restricting certain types of bandwidth. We expect this all to blow over in a few days, likely coinciding with the end of the big meetings in Beijing.

Best,

JC

The "log out and the log back in" did it for me.

Thanks!

Thanks for the notice!  I was just about to ask...

Anyway, the RSS feed works again in my iTunes!
