Remote Posting Glitch
calkins
August 07, 2011 at 02:31 AM posted in General DiscussionJust wanted to inform Cpod of a glitch while creating a new post from an iPod (using Safari of course).
[ See attached screen shot ] When creating a new post, it doesn't allow you to type inside the "Post a Message" window. It just gives you the option to "copy", but the keyboard doesn't pop up. It does allow you to fill in the "Title" window.
The same glitch also occurs if you want to add a new comment to a thread, in the "Add your own comment below" window. Replying to someone else's comment is not a problem.

I just saw a commercial for iPad that shows all the cool things you can do with it, the first of which is learning Chinese. Anybody seen it and know which app they are highlighting?

I would be surprised too but this is Praxis we're talking about it. Willing to sacrifice major functionality and market share because they like flash.

Thanks for your reply Peter. I guess it's not a big issue (not being able to post on Apple mobile devices), but I am a bit surprised that you guys don't recommend using iPhones/iPods/iPads to view your website. More and more people are using them and fewer people are using computers.
I guess less posting = more studying, so that is a good thing ;)

Always been the same for me with my iPad (can type the title but not the content). I have to resort to my laptop or Android cellphone if I want to initiate a thread. A bit frustrating but something I've just learned to live with - I assumed it was something to do with iPad's inability to deal with flash?

Hi calkins
I've got an iPod 4 and reproduced your problem - I cannot post a message on the standard site either. I tried just posting a message in the title field but it gives you a message that you must enter text in the comment field.
So .. another Apple mystery?

It never works for me from the mobile version of the site, but I recently discovered it does work for me on my iphone from the regular version of the site.

Calkins,
Sorry mate. I wasn't sure which version you were on. I don't do this very often so it's entirely possible that whatever glitch you've struck on the regular version has occurred since I last tried it [probably about a month ago]. But for a very long time it hasn't worked for me posting from the mobile version ..it always tries and then fails and gives you the option to try again ...and no matter how many times you try it fails.

That's strange Baba, because I'm using the regular version of the site, and I'm using an iPod 4 with the latest version, which I assume is the same as the iPhone's. Do you have the latest iPhone?

August 10, 2011 at 01:44 AMWe do not recommend browsing our website on Apple mobile devices because Apple mobile devices does not support Adobe products. Therefore, all of our flash functions are not supported causing compatibility issues.
