Hi John. I'm not getting it for Replies either, not just Replying to Replies. Thanks for getting this taken care of.
Happy Chinese New Year!

OK, I see. It looks like replies are OK, but replies to replies (like this one) don't have it.
It's currently CNY vacation, but that button should not have been removed, so the tech team will have to add it back.
Thanks for the clarification, everybody!

John, it's as chris.k and watyamacallit both concur. Until very recently we had the Convert Tone Marks button below this Replying comment box. Now there's only the Reply button and Cancel button.

It was, until very recently!
Wasn't always, but nearly always. When threading and these Reply boxes were first introduced on the site last year it wasn't. Then shortly after it got added, and we loved it. And have been taking it for granted ever since.

Same for me. Its not there when I reply. Until its fixed it would be easy to get around though. Just type the comment in the white box, convert tones, then cut and paste into the gray box.

For me, it's still there in the 'Comment' box down the bottom, but not in the box for replying to another person's comment (as I am now). Don't remember if it ever was in the Reply box, though.

No, not intentionally. We've double-checked, and it's there for us. Where don't you see it?
