Can only post from mobile site

October 29, 2010 at 09:58 PM posted in General DiscussionHi, I've attempted 3 times to create a new user post in the Transcripts with Tal group, and they all failed. I have had to post through the mobile site instead. I've done it from the Community Post tab, from the "Post a New Message" within the Group page, and also from the dashboard, and none of them worked.

Hi Peter- subsequent edits were not a problem though? Well, I will let you know if I have any other problems.

Hi sebire, I think the reason that your posts failed is because you copied the transcript content directly from our website. These content contains HTML and JavaScript codings that are not supported by our community posts. Our post only supports general text and links. Next time I would recommend copying the transcript to notepad instead of word to filter out the HTML and JavaScripts before copying it to the community post.

Hi Sebire,
Thanks for pointing out the little pencil. I'll try it out as soon as Peter shows me how to copy and paste from a Word file to post a complete transcript. I tried various ways, including saving the file as an Open Document Text, but the system will not post the transcript.

Hi Paulinrus,
Actually, I was originally trying to copy and paste from an open office document, but I've also had the problem when I wasn't in a previous post.
If you want to edit your original post, go to Community, and then select the tab Post. There is a little pencil next to your post, and you can go in and edit it.

Yeah, I posted three times and the post did not appear, even though the screen did refresh after each posting. I copied and paste the contents from Word to post.
Peter, does the system allow copy and paste from Word? Also, is there a limit on the size of the posting?
Sebire, Zhen said that one could edit the original post, but I can't find a way to do so. Were you able to edit/change your original post after getting the feedback from Zhen?
It could be just me not knowing how to post since I've not made a post for months now and Cpod may have changed the procedures from before.

Hi Peter, I can't replicate it here (using IE8), but I was using Chromium/Firefox to post before.
Paulinrus has reported a simlar problem here:

I also think Bodawei mentioned it somewhere too.

Hi sebire, I've just tested using your account and made a new post (test post) under Transcripts with Tal. The posting function seems to be working properly. Can you tell me if you are still encountering this problem? Can you please tell me which internet browser you are using to access our website?
