Not sure if you other users have seen this (sorry if this is a repeat), but this is extremely useful to poddies visiting us at the factory:

It's a PHOTO guide to finding the office! Check it out.

This is excellent! Why, oh why, is our trip to China so far in the future?

Maybe I'll try to take video with my cell phone. It'll probably be horrible quality, and trying to use the video as a guide will be an adventure in itself... :)

Bazza, we already love your 3D model, but it may be of little help to your learning Chinese, procrastinating maybe ;-)

you could do a video and that way everyone can see you getting lost... and then eventually conceding defeat and phoning them up for someone to rescue you

I could probably produce a 3D model of the building and have an animated fly-through. ;)

lavandez,

clearly you'll have to take pictures of every step of the way and lay them out like a collage map to satisfy everyone's curiosity.

I land in Shanghai on Saturday December 8 and I leave Monday afternoon so I just wanted to stop by and take pictures of the building and get a sense of where everything is. I'm flying from Shanghai to Chengdu afterwards.

I recall a dance studio on the ground floor and ChinesePod on the third. The rest of the building seemed vacant and not really what I expected. However, ChinesePod was just as I thought it would be.

- from/to map/subway/bus stop/parc

- street/entrance/left/right/straight,

- up/down/floors/stairway/lift

- corridor/(former)factory/offices

- toilets...

John, what you need is a couple more pics from the street entrance all the way down to the end of the alley where the staircase is.

We have to got right to the end of the little alleyway and you'll see that old toilet with the 女 on it that was in that picture with the ladies of ChinesePod. The staircase is directly opposite that. The proper toilet is on the left just before you reach the ChinesePod, in case you're nervous about meeting Jenny. When I got to this point on the day I knew I was going to meet Jenny my heart was racing.

Hmmm, it would seem we need a bird's eye view map. I don't think Google Maps gets in close enough. Anyone...??

Yeah goulniky, that's exactly what I did.

I just sent Jenny an email asking how to get there so this is kind of funny that I stumbled upon this.

I took these pictures on the way out and back to the subway instead of the order in which they are presented. Of course going there I was totally confused once I reached the correct street address.

(The building kind of reminded me of Alcatraz.)

actually, '#5. Find this staircase.' is rather confusing, I had memorized it and took the first staircase along building 4, which stops on the 1st floor if I remember correctly.

What you need is either take the (human-operated) lift, but that's a well-kept secret, or push along to the very end of the building, and then walk up the staircase.

Nice one. I am debating to fly via Shanghai on my way to Europe early next year...
