post order and redirect

Peter et al,

on long posts such as "lesson topic suggestions" in the General discussion group, you are taken to the top of page 1 of 9 or more comments when you click on the banner on the community page. why are we not taken directly to the latest post highlighted in the banner? Page 1 is the oldest and you must go to the bottom of page 9 to see the post you are after. The way this works couldnt be more wrong.
