September 21, 2010 at 03:55 AM posted in General DiscussionHello Tech team,
I have downloaded the android app, version 2.06 and I cannot seem to sign into the app. This effect 2.05 as well.
I press the sign in button, then I am told I will be redirected to the Chinesepod site to sign in. I then sign in and I am taken to the full webpage and left there.
Once I exit the brower and return to the app, I am not signed in and the cycle begins of trying to sign in but it never recognising that I am signed in.
I am using the samsung galaxy S (i9000 in taiwan)
Any ideas? Doe's it have anything to do with the fact I am getting the full site rather than the mobile version?
I leave for a holiday after today and was really hoping to take Chinesepod on my travels with me so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I am facing the same issue. And I cannot install chrome on my Galaxy S (4G by Tmobile). I guess a conflict between differnent version of Android.
Any solution ?
thanks.

Hi hamshank, please follow the instructions below to troubleshoot your problem.
1. Be sure that your ChinesePod Android App is closed.
2. Visit www.chinesepod.com via your mobile internet browser.
3. Log into your ChinesePod account using your internet browser.
4. Log out of your ChinesePod account using the "log out" link on the upper right corner on the page.
5. Clear your internet browser history, cookie and cache.
6. Launch your ChinesePod Android App to log into your account.
Please email us at support@chinesepod.com if you have any other questions.

I would recommend using Google Mobile Chrome on your Android phone. This should be the default browser for Android devices.

It's just the stock browser so I have no idea what it is called. I have not downloaded opera or anything like that.

Can you tell me which internet browser you are using on your Android phone?

Update...I have now got it working....I have no idea how.
I decided to keep trying to sign in and leave windows and tab's open in my browser. On my 3rd sign in attempt I got to the Authorize or Deny page!
很奇怪!

Hi Peter,
Unfortunately that did not work. I am still directed to the full website after logging in and the app does not recognize I am logged in.
In addition to clearing the cache, history and cookies, I also deleted passwords, location info and restarted the phone.
The only version I was able to log into was 1.2. Since then, this is always happening.
Any other Ideas?

June 19, 2013 at 08:28 AMYes guys, I do believe you are using Android 2, and thus the older app, and it no longer seems to be supported with the current login API. We would like to remove our Android 2.0 app from Google Play, but it won't let us since we have active users who have it downloaded. You will need Android 3 to use the current version.
