Ipod/phone app lesson list

Hello

The lesson list on the ipod/phone app is now massively broken. It used to at least slightly resemble your actual lesson list, but mine is now giving me advanced, media, upper-intermediate (none of which I'm subscribed to), and when I refreshed this morning, I got a run of 4 newbie lessons at the top, which is extremely bizarre.

When's the next update please? Or is it possible to fix this before then? It's a bit annoying to have to go through 6 pages of lessons to find one that I actually want to download.

Also, when I've listened to a lesson and go back, it's just showing me the three "free" lessons. So I quit the app, and go in again, and it crashes. So I go in again and it's back to normal. Which is fun.

thanks

Steve

Here's what I would try (I'm not Peter, but I know a thing or two about the iPhone app): delete and reinstall the app. There was an issue when we switched over to the new lesson management where the API call being used by the app was returning the equivalent of "Manage Lessons > All (Active & Studied)." This was not ideal, as people expected the list to reflect the Dashboard view. I believe that the issue was fixed on Tuesday (if it wasn't fixed then this will all be for naught, and I apologize, but I know at very least that it was being fixed). However, because of the way the app caches data, the fix might not be apparent. Thus, deleting it and reinstalling it is a sure way to ensure that app's cache is deleted (all of this will be made smoother in future app releases).

I'm in the same situation as RJBerki -- my lesson list on my install of the app is working exactly as it should be -- and as far as I know always has, so it's hard for me to check right now and tell if this issue has been fixed for you, as everyone is on holiday.

As for crashes being more frequent... I'm really not sure what the cause of that is. We'll be releasing a new app in a couple of weeks (a bit more work on our end, and then the Apple approval process stands in the way) that should hopefully solve a large number of the problems people were having (for one it is built from the ground up to use the new API, which should help make sure it and the website stay more in sync).

I'm sure when Peter gets back he'll have more answers, but I hope mine above can be of use for now.

Thanks john. Sorry, I know you are really helpful too, I was just a bit narked that he responded to every other thread and not mine :-p

Reinstalling it seems to have solved it for now - thanks for the help and have a good mid autumn break!

Peter is on holiday no doubt. Mooncakes. Have one. The funny thing is that my iphone/itouch app seems to be working fine. Location?

Come on Peter, you're normally really good about at least acknowledging a problem :-(

oh sure, make me the bad guy that buries the plea. We will just have to remember to bump this after the 3 day break. Sorry.

CPod, there is a problem here. (I just reiterated this so that the following doesn't bury your plea.)

You probably know it is a holiday today. But if you don't, then I'll just mention to you that Peter might take a few days to get back into gear.

Same here; everything is getting more scrambled every day.   Sometimes a small group of free lessons shows up instead of my content.  And crashes are frequent now.  This was such a great app, I hope it gets fixed soon.
