February 7, 2010 at 12:14 AMHi jjinfrance, my dictionary gives me 系 jì for belt, necktie 领带, apron 围裙 (a tying, tightening action). But for necktie I also see a lot of 戴领带--perhaps you would use this 系 only to express "putting on" a necktie and not really "to be wearing" one??
Wristwatch I think takes 戴; wouldn't 带手表 mean you're bringing a wristwatch with you somewhere, not wearing it?

February 5, 2010 at 2:22 AMBaba knows "hallelujah" of course, that it's Hebrew meaning "Praise Yahweh", and that we sing Hallelujahs at mass (which is why he suggested 哈里路亚 must be the transliteration). So it's great to learn how to say all that in Mandarin, thank you Ellen 老师!
