July 18, 2010 at 10:54 AMI would go with 在……之间. 在这些 QingWen 之间,你最喜欢的是哪一个课?
The 里 I think could work, but not the 从. 从 indicates a starting point of reference, whether temporal or locational.
I think 在……当中 is also good, but not as sure as w/之间.
In any case, as always, am happy to be corrected if I'm off!

July 15, 2010 at 9:38 AMHi--the Exercises are the "old school" ones! They don't work well (with certain browsers?)--the matching is a nightmare. Please update!
Also, in the Supplementary Vocab, the audio given for 合法 is hézuò.

July 13, 2010 at 8:05 AMIn this sense 过 would be to "surpass" or "exceed", "go beyond".

July 13, 2010 at 3:42 AMBaba maybe that was in the Intermediate lesson "New Years Wishes" (Bob, 看出来 is in the Supplementary vocab there).
John and Jenny talk about this ~出来 starting around 17:30.

July 13, 2010 at 1:51 AM不过 (búguò) is "however"; it is also "no more than" (makes sense. it's the literal meaning of the characters). Which it is is evident from context. You often see 不过~而已 éryǐ. See some examples here.

(Sorry, I meant to make this Reply to a recent comment of yours but didn't have time then, I think you had an example sentence with this 不过)
But of course your reply to spgowen about possible confusion with 不够 (búgòu, 'not enough') is to the point, and correct.

July 12, 2010 at 2:07 AMHi danchao, dahouxiaohou asked about 老子. My dictionary tells me 老子 (aside from a way of saying "my father"--much like "my old man"), is also a way of saying "I". It doesn't seem to have any third-person pronoun function.

July 11, 2010 at 2:57 AMThanks Bob, I guess you mean select the Group, say the Intermediate Group. I tried that but that doesn't give me any Removed lessons. I have since found a way to reinstate my Removed lessons but only as Studied lessons.
(edit) OK forget it. The link won't work. I talk about this in a General Discussions thread called "Re-Add a Set of lessons".

July 10, 2010 at 9:35 AMBeg? 这我可不相信! Come on we all know Connie's the boss. She only has to look your way and you know what you have to do.

July 10, 2010 at 9:27 AMThanks but I don't know what you mean by "select a particular level from the dropdown menu, and click the icon once". Anyhow I'm not able to get the garbage bin icon on the removed lesson page to do anything. There's more, but I'm going to try to find someplace else to discuss this.

July 18, 2010 at 1:36 PMOh OK, good. I wasn't as sure, I meant to say.
What about 里?
