November 18, 2010, 10:03 AMThe thing is that every chinese student learns these stories in middle school, and to an extent hold these creation myths dear to them on account of them being part of the early stages of the development of the national chinese character. As such pangu will occasionally come up in conversation. The creation myths mentions are a part of the most basic general knowledge of the chines people. So I think it is a very useful lesson for people who are intersted in China.
