June 30, 2009 at 11:15 AMI was hoping for some examples of applying "bi3jiao hao3"
I've heard the comparing things with "bi3" structure eg. "nan2ren bi3 nan2 hai2er gao1"
But never heard the phrase "bi3jiao"
I guess "bi3jiao hao3" means something like "better to..."(?) which could be useful.
Does it always go with a "hai2 shi4" in the sentence ?
Thanks

June 24, 2009 at 12:34 PMZhe4 ge - Sometimes pronounced like "jer ger" sometimes "jay ge"
Na4 ge - Also somtimes sounds like "nar ge" sometimes "nay ge"
It's the same thing right?
Also sometimes when Chinese people are thinking about what to say, they say something that sounds like "na ge na ge na ge" (much like English say "errrr") is that the same word? does anyone know what I'm talking about?:)
Thanks

May 27, 2009 at 2:58 PMThanks this is exactly what I needed. It certainly takes a bit of getting used to the paying the bill situation in China.
One more thing. How would one say "You always pay, I'll pay this time"
I guessed "Ni3 Chang2 Fu4" and I was going to say "jintian1, wo3 lie2 fu4" ?
I doubt that's correct though. Or there is probably a better way to say it at least.

I'm trying to say "Because I always have to work". I'm wondering if this is correct.. or maybe things are either in the wrong order or the sentence is missing a "de" or "zai4" ?
Anyone?
