In the dialogue 你 男朋友 挺 帅 的,is translated as ‘your boyfriend is pretty handsome.' I believe 挺 in this case is being translated as; pretty, very, quite? 请问, are 挺 and 很 interchangeable?
One dictionary defines 挺 as 1. stick/bulge out 2. endure 你能 挺多 久?3. <slang>. How does 挺 translate to; pretty, very, quite?
Can I get a little help from my friends, in trying to understand 挺。
