January 29, 2012 at 3:36 AMNot sure if you heard that line of the dialog does first say 考试, but then says 考生物 to clarify what kind of test。You do have to be a sharp listener though, as I have always found with Chinese (and found difficult!)

But it is protected by law, dating from the 1955 treaty in which Austria regained its independence from the liberator-occupiers
约 by itself seems to be more of an "agreement" meaning, that is why even a date is a 约会.
It may also be 合同 is a word where 合 is just short for 合约, and 同 means two parties, or "together".

我还记得我更小的时候在HBO上看到《单身派对》那部汤姆·汉克斯(Tom Hanks)的电影，那时真不知道怎么想，从那时起一直觉得美国的单身派对都这样，哈哈，现在知道不是。想知道，宅男和他的朋友是在看这部电影吗？哈哈
