Good observation on the exchange rate sentence.  I completely missed that one.  (人民币升值，进出口这行的优势一下子就没了 ) By way of excusing myself, I think I glossed over it because the borrower seemed to be making excuses anyway.  Also, and this is a question, I am guessing that some business people who are mainly exporters or maybe even purely exporters would still describe themselves as being in the "import / export" business. Does anybody have experience with this? 

I easily get tripped up by exhange rate language in Chinese, and one often sees improper usage in English by native English speakers as well.  I have some sympathy for the writers, and I'm still amazed that such a potentially deadly-dull topic was turned into such a brilliant work of "edu-tainment."

Great lesson, and as with all great lessons leads to many questions:

 一笔资金  is translated as "some capital".   I am not used to the word 笔 .  Can this phrase also be translated as "an infusion of capital"or "a tranche of capital".  It seems funny to think of the word "one" followed by a measure word as meaning "some."

资金周转 is translated in the transcript as "turning a profit" but in the host discussion as "cash flow"  or "capital flow." My guess is that cash flow is probably closer to the literal meaning.

The banker refers to her concern over the expansion leading to 不良资产.  Is she referring to the company's assets, for example  underutilized or idle machinery, or the bank's assets, in other words, a dud loan?

She also mentions her worry about 坏账率, which is translated as "bad credit ratings", but I guess it should be a  "delinquency rate" or "non-performing loan ratio."  Wouldn't a bad credit rating would be a 坏信用度?
