Hi mikenotinjubei

Your comment made me think of a cute (though a little corny) video clip. Users behind the Great Bamboo Firewall, you know what you have to do!

Hi mattiask,

I'm genuinely touched. Thank you.

Hi bendidelaowai,

Thank you for your keen and perceptive questions all through the series. As they say, "the best performances are seen by the best audiences." When a teacher is lucky enough to have thoughtful and engaged students, both sides benefit. You and the other poddies kept me on my toes and eager to produce the show.

Hi pgwilliams222

Thanks for your kind remarks. I am putting together PDFs of all the shows in the series, which will be published when the technical issues are resolved. It is only fair to everyone who went through the first time copy-pasting.

Hi sempala,

Good point. As you keep listening to the more recent episodes of Qing Wen, you will find that the pace slows down a bit. This episode was taped a couple years ago. The later episodes also provide pinyin in the sentence samples.

Hi Joachim and anahosne,

Thank you! Any future series will provide you with the PDFs and so on that you rightly request.

Hi matt_c

That's why people say 曹操 is the fastest man in China!

Can anyone sing “曹操”by 林俊杰? Not the easiest song in the KTV playbook, and I don't like the long, self-indulgent battle scene in the video. But it's pretty exciting.

Hi kaohsiung,

I'm glad to be of service. Good luck with your studies. And if you have specific thoughts or questions about a poem, start a discussion about it on CPod!

Hi bodawei,

Thank you for all your comments over the course of the series. They made the discussion much richer.

Hi bill,

Thanks for your kind words, and also for sharing your insights with us all. Half the fun of the series has been reading the thoughtful comments that people like you made.

"Literature with Pete?" I like the sound of that...

Hi monica5

Thank you for your sincere enthusiasm. If the show made Chinese poetry accessible to you, that's "Mission Accomplished."

Hi dunderklumpen,

I'm flattered, 但如果你真的想听猫王歌曲,还是Aloha From Hawaii 或 1968 Comeback Special 好一点吧 !

PS 我也是“浴室歌手” ;-)

I started learning Chinese because I wanted to work in intelligence. Many governments have a great demand for people who can speak this "strategic language."

Now, I'm on a different road-- "green" development and sustainable farming.

Hi vinilla-guerrilla,

The sad thing is, you don't really need Chinese to get a hot Chinese girlfriend (or at least a one-night stand.) The worst womanizers I know speak the least Chinese. It's a screwed-up side effect of the world economy.

That said, Matt, John and myself all have lovely Chinese ladies in our lives. We couldn't have met them without Chinese.

Hi mikeinewshot,

When times are tough-- or even more, when they're good-- the only thing we can say for sure is "this, too, shall pass."

It's been a pleasure guiding you through these poems. I've learned a lot from your comments (and now I'm itching to get my hands on the Hitch-hiker's Guide!)

And I'll be sure to catch you on the flip side!

Hi christine30550

Thank you very much for your kind words.

There are a wealth of Chinese poetry books around for you to explore on your own. Please let me know if you need recommendations.

Hi juzi,

You are too kind. I'm looking forward to seeing you all around on the forums.

Hi bodawei,

That sounds like a piece worth looking into.

The most touching thing I've read about the Vietnam War is The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. War involves a lot of good-byes.
