Hi weijin

我认为抢版的抢应该读 qiang3, 虽然这个多音字也有qiang1 的读音,但qiang3 是抢劫或抢夺的意思。

I'm not really sure what you mean about ones ripped from a DVD. My understanding was that most 盗版碟子were ripped from DVDs...

I'm a rat on the Chinese Zodiac, and it's never made a whit of difference.

Maybe being a Libra pre-destined me towards being a huge Don DeLillo fan.

Hi ruyide

生某人的气 means to get angry at someone (because they have done something wrong.)

对某人生气 means to vent one's anger at someone who did not do anything wrong but had the bad luck to be standing nearby the angry party.

Hi bingge

The "verb 了 verb" construction is used with single-syllable repeated verbs. It is like 看看, 听听,etc.

So for example:

我听了听老师的话, 差点就睡觉了

I listened to the teacher and almost fell asleep.

他看了看妹妹画的漫画,觉得很有意思

He took a look at his sister's comic and thought it was pretty funny.

Hi duheaume

It's fine to drop the 吗 in a question. Like in English, the tone at the end of the sentence will rise a bit to express the interrogative mood.

Hi mikenotinjubei,

I'm not sure what you're seeing, but on my Expansion sentences screen I have 请问地铁站哪儿 .

Of course if you were still in Jubei you would be asking about 捷運, not 地铁。

Hi su1xiao3ya3

The sentence you are looking for is 我的心液晶电视在那里放着。

Since the TV is an inanimate object we shouldn't say that it is 站着。
