Must be summer, living is easy, and bugs everywhere. Right now the Exercises page is not loading. All I get is a blank page. 

Nice try of an excuse Pete, however this is Intermediate, not UI or Advanced.

John, thanks for your response. The issue as expressed various times by poddies is the language gap when they move from Elementary to the Intermediate level. I can understand it'll be tedious for you to translate what Jenny is saying, however, if we cannot understand what Jenny is saying how would we be able to appreciate or learn from your conversation with her?

In the Elementary lessons, Jenny repeats trice and Ken interprets trice even though the text is available. Moving from Elementary to Intermediate, suddenly there is this assumption that poddies are fluent enough in the language to understand what Jenny says. Seems to me this is the curriculum gap poddies are experiencing which would be solved either by Jenny providing the Chinese text of what she said or by your intepretation.

I think we are both thinking of the same direction with the same end goal i.e. to learn Chinese the most efficient way from all the shows Cpod offers us.

I should have said SCRIPT instead of sub-titles. Sub-titles like those normally found in movies as well in the Cpod menu series. They are mainly used just for telling the story so that viewers can enjoy a movie. However, since we are here to learn Chinese foremost while enjoying the Cpod shows, it will be very helpful if Cpod would take the extra step (set a higher standard of service towards excellence) by also providing poddies with the HANYU SCRIPT of the Chinese spoken in the Cpod shows. 

Provide us the Chinese script spoken by the cook.

Provide us the Chinese script spoken by Jenny in the Intermediate lessons. 

With these scripts, not only will we learn Chinese more effectively at Cpod, but will also be able to enjoy the shows more. The payback to Cpod is more satisfied poddies spreading the news of Cpod's excellent services to others.

Such scripts are now occasionally provided by helpful poddies like Cassielin, Reigau, and Mike and I really appreciate their generosity.

Yeah, Cassielin's dialogue translation is greatly appreciated. I think poddies will really enjoy and learn more if Cpod would translate Chinese dialogues..... subtitles are a must and we see them in any foreign language movie.

I downloaded the mp4 file but couldn't find a way to play it on my computer (Windows Vista with Windows media player). Anyone with suggestions?

Wow, with pdf and expansion...excellent!

Now I can be more confident ordering in a Chinese restaurant besides just gulping down 青岛啤酒 !

Thanks mate... Chinese "r" grrrrr is a real paradox, goodness knows why it is added a lot to words....perhaps a Beijing thing. And I also notice how she freqently does not pronounced the "n" when pinyin has "n" ...perhaps due to quickness of the tongue thing.

Thanks, much appreciation for the effort you and Reigau are expending in translating Jenny's dialogue, which if we don't understand a lot of it ('cause we haven't come across the vocab in Elle or Inter lessons) much of the goodness of the show is lost. As I posted before in the Mumbai lesson, John shouldn't assume that most readers understand what Jenny is saying in Chinese (how about taking a poll Cpod?), especially in the Intermediate level where there is such a big gap moving from Elle to Intermediate.
