china has new law. no smoking in public places..but no one obeys this rule....they cant control this rule...

it seems that for many questions the truth is optional..some people ask me some difficult questions..for example ..how much salary do you get each month...i dont want to make them angry..i am not used to this type of questions..
are the sentences understandable

April 11, 2011 at 3:01 AMi used to try and write characters but at 55 it was a difficult task and then i went to using pinyin to learn words....these days i concentrate on trying to read more and for fun reading simple chinese books....al so i find that i learn vocab based on what i am doing...ie ...i swim most days at our local lake ..so i try and learn vocab related to this hobby...also as i am 55 i am speaking alot to older people who dont speak chinese that standardly soi dont get disapointed when i cant understand,,,for me that is just part of life here...and i only study when i feel like i want to....when i am not in the mood i go out and just use what i have got....and that really is the best test of your chinese....speak to your neighbours and see how much you can understand....your abiltiy to listem for me is the most important thing in learning chinese

April 6, 2011 at 8:43 AMchinese kids spend 4 years at kinder....5 days a week....far too much time is spent in class type setting learning things preparing them for school....i have worked with kinder kids for 5 years....too much time is spent learning and too little playing....most kids cant draw but are learning a couple of chinese languages...some english..how to write chinese...dancing....chess and so on....keep them at home more and let them play more at kinder....that is what kinder is supposed to be for....learning how to play with eachother..not this massive learning input the chinese throw at these kids....there is no excuse for not spending time with your pre school kids....the time you lose with them at this age is the most important time of the parent child relationship......money is secondary issue..but in this modern world it is a useable excuse for everything...
