I just checked an intermediate lesson and the exercises were in a new format, so I suspect they are making some changes to them and they will be back shortly. Not a trivial question! A very good one in fact.

Yeah, my roommate has expressed discomfort about walking around with the rent money. But then seeing people walking out of the bank with a grocery bag of cash for big purchases makes her feel better. I guess culturally it is not that big a deal. Still hurts if someone does end up relieving you of your burden though.

Yeah, I don't have the chinese skills to figure that out either... but I saw an ad of theirs that showed a smartphone with the bank website on it and many other pictures that led me to believe you can get online service comparable to a US bank. And I pay my roommate for utilities, so have no experience in that regard. The only bill I pay myself is for my cell phone and that is prepay, so you just go to any vendor and top it off. You don't even need any chinese... hand them your phone and a 50 or a 100 and you are good to go. China Mobile even has English customer service on their 热线。Convenient for me, bad for my language acquisition.

Hmm, sounds like I need to start quizzing my roommate on all these things so I know what I am doing when I finally get my own place.

The current funds account is like a checking account, except no checks. Just skipped straight to debit card.

ok, to me that sounds like you get fined for working on holidays... but I venture to guess you mean the company is penalized by paying a fine to you.

I have not heard "flake off" myself. The verb is also flake. Past tense flaked. Or perhaps flake out and flaked out. Eg: "She totally flaked on me. Again." It can also be a noun: "Oh man! I am such a flake."

I just had this exact conversation (Well, just about. We were both already off work.) with a Chinese friend in English... I wish I'd listened to this an hour ago! I could have been flaky in Chinese!!!

oh, I just found 成熟的。So perhaps it should be 小成熟的狗。

I suppose if it were important to differentiate you could say 幼小狗 or 小成体狗。Hmmm, I wonder if there should be a 的 in there since there is more than one syllable of adjective. I don't think so with 幼小狗 since 小狗 seems to function as a noun rather than an noun with an adjective. But I think 小成体狗 may need to be 小成体的狗。 Not sure though.
