What was the music playing in the background?  My wife overheard the lesson and really likes the song.

One of my friends where I used to work would always get up early on Mother's Day and play golf with his buddies so his wife wouldn't have to get up and make him breakfast :)

Similar plot to 蜗居, a soap opera which is currently being broadcast here in the SF Bay Area.  Great fun to watch, but my dvr gets a workout as I often pause to read the simplified subtitles to figure out what's going on.  BTW, my Pleco translates the title as 'humble abode', but the English name they use is the hilarious 'Dwelling Narrowness'.  No idea where they got that!

Oh oh, maybe I corrupted my Chinese friends at work when I was teaching them to run their words together like Americans - "Jeet?" for "Did you eat?" and "No, jew?" for "No, did you?" . . .

As a one off that audio review was great.  I'm really going to miss Pete/Clinton/Elvis/Kermit etc.  I was laughing so hard my wife asked me what was going on, and I just said it was Pete saying goodbye.

Okay, here's a wild guess a about the singer.  I was just listening to Gary Lucas 'Edge of Heaven' album and it sounds like the singer is Gisburg, but I have no idea what the song is.

Yep, sounds like the LA I went to junior high and high school in.  As an assignment in 8th grade English class we had to write a screen play.  Living in Pacific Palisades it was so common to see movie stars wandering around that it was no big deal for us, but when relatives or friends came to visit it was always fun to watch their reactions.  By the way, you could tell which waiters and waitresses were really serious about becoming actors, they wouldn't write down your order, but would memorize it!

Oh, Chicago. Though I left there when I was only 10 I still consider it my 老家。 patmetheny: When I lived there I was too young to realize I wasn't supposed to like both teams, so I was both a Cubs and White Sox fan, though Ernie Banks is still my all time favorite baseball player. I lost a 45 cent world series bet on the White Sox in 1959 (two weeks allowance for me then!) and still dream of a Cubs - White Sox world series.

One of my cats is almost as big as Calkin's and likes to sleep on my monitor, the other prefers the warmth of the cable box for his naps. 可是两只都很喜欢吃我的太太的帽子。 帽子在猫里! ke3 shi4 liang3 zhi1 dou4 hen3 xi3 huan chi1 wo3 de tai4 tai4 de mao4 zi。 mao4 zi zai4 mao1 li3!
