Hi Chanelle,

Thanks! That's awesome advice, I will be leaving China in the next few years with a pet. This little bit of advice could save me some serious headaches. Cheers!

I like the Dutch and French insights in this lesson, how interesting!

I also learned a new English term in this lesson.  I had never heard of a rock melon before!  I'm guessing Cantaloupe is an American English term?

I read that it's also called a muskmelon...I wonder how this fruit aquried such a diverse lexicon...

Thanks

I never paid more than one to two months in advance, though, at times, that took a lot of negotiations. If a landlord asked for 6 months in advance I would just assume they were too much hassle to work with. I don't want landlords who give me too much mafan!

Me too, I can't imagine paying expat prices. I have seen people pay a lot for something nice and, also, a lot for something not so nice. The key is that you keep looking, and work with many agents! Some agents rip you off! I once had two different agents show me the same apartment...a row house off of Anfu Lu, with a 2,000 RMB difference in price! Some agents are just trying to get as much out of you as they can. Jerks.
