I need some help for additional vocabulary!! I'm not sure of the ones I already wrote but that‘s what I find with the dictionnary.

In the grammar section it is explained that 尽管 (jǐnguǎn) means "any time," or "unhesitatingly" and in the writing practise(or when checking the dictionary) I have "despite; although; even though"... so how do I know when it is one sense or the other?

November 3, 2011 at 12:05 AMI tried to say this today to a friend and she told me 去年六月would be June 2010...whereas I meant the last June (June 2011). She told me then I should rather use 今年六月.
Is this right?! also I'm wondering now how to say "Next June"!

Since I tried it last Summer it is my favorite one (I'm referring to the queen one aka Mangosteen!) (一个山竹 ？？）
我喜欢吃很多山竹！！太好吃！
如果我想说 "Last June I eat Mangosteen for the first time" 可以说 “上六月第一次我吃了山竹”

October 30, 2011 at 2:09 PMI just tried for fun (ant to clarify stuffs in my mind:p) to summarize what unit people use for weight...(for veggies or themselves).
Here is is what I come up with:
China: people used mostly "jin" (jin1 斤) or "gongjin"(gong1jin1公斤)。。1斤=0,5kg=1,102lb=0,5公斤
Hong Kong : it is mostly the "catty" which is used and although it is also pronounced jin1(斤） (gan1 in cantonese) it refers to the "chinese pound"...1catty=1斤(catty)=1,21斤＝~604.8 g＝~1.333lb
Europe: people mostly uses kilogram... 1kg=2,205lb=1公斤＝2斤＝1,653斤(catty)
Great Britain : I'm not sure which one is used..seems like kg (see Europe) is officially used but pound is commonly used as well (See US).
USA : definetely pound 1lb=0,45kg=0,9072斤＝0,75斤(catty)
to be completed (corrected?!?) by other poddies for the many forgotten countries :D...plus I would really like to have confirmation on what I wrote on HK/china and know what's up with Taiwan!
