February 13, 2012 at 1:18 PM很多香港的人不会说英语!!。。。但是大家也不会说普通话!but with English, Mandarin and your gesture ;) you should find a way!
and for the so called tension it is mainly due to minor cultural difference like the cleanliness rules in the MTR that seem to bother mostly mainlander or foreginers! (geez I hate the no food rule in the mtr!!)

中国人经常说“一会儿见”吗?。什么时候我说英语我经常用“see you soon”可是这是第一次我看到了“一会儿见”。
(zhōngguórén jīngcháng shuō "yī huǐr jiàn"ma?shénmeshíhou wǒ shuō yīngyǔ wǒ jīngchāng yòng "see you soon" kěshī zhè shì dì yī cì wǒ kàndào le "yī huǐr jiàn")

January 22, 2012 at 12:33 AMwell I can understand mark's frustration but I would say you should keep basic subscription just for a short period of time to get accustomed with Cpod. Plus if you're motivated to learn Chinese go for a 1 or 2years premium subscription when there is some special offer...
I used to find it expensive @ the start...however now I would say it is rather cheap.
ps: I'm not getting any discount for saying this but I have to say Cpod makes learning Chinese a really entertaining thing :D

December 28, 2011 at 12:44 AM大家好!
quick questions on a topic I used to hate as a kid(grammar!!)
is 他比你一点儿高 the same as 他比你高一点儿 ?
in the expansion there is also "北京烤鸭我吃过一次" ..could I say 我吃过北京烤鸭一次 or 我北京烤鸭吃过一次。
I guess people would understand what I mean anyway but is it "grammatically" correct ?!!

December 28, 2011 at 12:04 AMAs many of CP podies I think the notion I had of boxing day was that it was another shopping day (and sports in the UK) so it always good to learn more about it!
In the expansion I bought this pair of shoes during the big sale is translated as 这双靴子是在大减价的时候买的
可以说 :“我买的这双靴子在大减价的时候” ?
