To songyian,

I'm not sure but it could be:" 你要走后门,是吗 ?" meaning : you'll be getting in through the back door (?)...I'm really not sure. But Changye or someone else will be able to tell...

if I may suggest something : first listen to the lesson (dialogue, translation ans explanations), perhaps you can also copy the dialogue if you want to learn how to write. Then you can go to "dialogue section" and repeat the dialogue several times and the same with the vocabulary. After that you can go to "expansion", what I do is : I listen to the sentences without looking at the text and I try to repeat them, after I write down those I find most interesting (or difficult). After I do the other exercises, and I finish with the audio review stopping between the sentences to try and find the answers before I listen to the correction...

Hi chinesepod, Thanks for doing this lesson on Paris at this particular moment .....I'm French and I just want to say "nobody's perfect", French people are not either but we're not all rude with foreigners or too proud of our country ! Some of us do speak English and many are even learning chinese !. By the way Calkins our president is not very brilliant either... I'm looking forward to French pod, I'll be glad to help ! You're all welcome to Lyon where I live !

May I ask again : is it alright to bargain food on the street in China ?

In France too we have roasted chestnuts on the streets in winter but they're different from the ones I had in Beijing. We can also talk about "tang2 hu2 lu4" , 糖 葫芦 (is that correct ?) -that's also delicious. A very good lesson, very usefull to be able to bargain a little, though I read somewhere you don't bargain for food. in China..?

Don't you think that the English translation of "qu ni de" : "screw you" is a bit strong ? Does "qu ni de" have a sexual connotation ?

I bet Andy Lau was Li Jingli, Brad Pitt was Peter and the ninja was Donny Yen... I'm too fond of Tony Leung to imagine he could play in such a story...

Hi Xiaohu, Thanks for the translation. When I'm in Beijing next August I'll be able to explain WHY I love Chinese, at last ! Mind you I'm not really sure I can have a conversation leading to that sort of refined thinking.... ...but I'll try !
