Btw the way I just saw the 防辐射布料

屏蔽效果比一般布料防辐射效果高一倍

A比B 高一倍 means A=2B

But is this notion of 高一倍 (1 time superieur) the equivalent of 兼倍高 , 两倍高 or 2倍高 ?

Speaking of 防辐射, there are also :

防辐射手链 (anti-radiation bracelet)

防辐射项链 (antiradiation neck-lace)

防辐射眼镜 (anti-radiation glasses)

and of course 防辐射男士平角短 (anti-radiation shorts for men)

For illustration, here is the extract of a "chinese movie" that shows how 雷锋 was used in a conversation ten years ago.  ;o)

人民的勤务兵

就像香港的董建华 (Tung Chee-hwa)

北京乐与路 (Beijing music on the road)
aka Beijing rocks (2001)

Friendly advice for the Cpod "marketing team",

With this video, which could be available on Youtube soon, you aimed for a potential young public/customer. But I don't think it's the most clever decision today.

Thanks to the actual economic conditions, you've got a huge reservoir of customers with people between 30-45 who just lost a job in the last few weeks or think they will lose it soon.

Someone who just lost his job is full of energy, has money, has lots of free time, is looking for education to develop new skills, is looking for something to stand out.

Don't lose time on a small and immature market. Just make acceptable chinese initiations for the strongest market today and you will get lots of new customers soon.

I'm a bit circumspect about this last Cpod production.

With the bad acting, the get-up, the funny faces,  不见 Vs 部件 , 骗庞 Vs 偏旁 I was looking for a crude final joke somewhere at the end of what I thought to be a spoof ...but nothing!  ;o(

Frankly, what sort of public would you attract with this type of video ? Shoe-throwers ?

Speaking of cultural differences, it's almost impossible to find SPAMin France. You can only find some Corned Beef which is considered to be one of the lowest quality of food available for human (that's almost consider dog/cat food).

But we've got "paté". From my own food experience in the US, Paté and Corned beef almost look alike but are totally different products which taste totally different.

What would be the chinese word for "paté" ?

The paté is mostly made of meat, could be put in a can and could be eaten for lunch but is it really 午餐肉 ?

... and time shared with Cpod is timeless ?

Did the "marketing team" prepared a nice virtual Cpod Christmas card this year ? It would be a subtle way to remind the addressee to renew a Cpod subscription this Christmas. ;o)

Sorry if it's "slightly off-topic" again but I wonder what will be the difference between Praxis Language (http://praxislanguage.com) and LanguagePod (http://languagepod.org) ?

In chinese, this sociological concept of "generalized reciprocity" or "generalized exchange" doesn't seem to have any known translation but the resulted concept of "Gift Economy" is literally translated as 礼物经济.

To avoid 伤面子, it's better to point a specific and similar but imaginary problem.

Exemple : Yesterday, someone left some garbage bags in the staircase and blocked the way. I had to take them down myself.
