The importance of Animacy is a specificity of the english language, it could be less strong in chinese.

Most languages doesn't even have inanimate subject pronouns like "it " or "它".

Apparently 一个人 can also be used with computers.

Example : 我的电脑一个人可以上网

In latin, it means "now" (or more precisely hoc anno: "this year").

In Tibetan Buddhism, 大黑天 or 大黑神 seems to be the name of the big black deity.

Btw, 黑天 is also the chinese name of Krishna (the hinduist deity) which seems to symbolize something bad in Buddhism.
