context - yǔjìng - 语境
to avoid - bìmiǎn - 避免
Pretty interesting that 模糊 (mo2hu) means both vague, ambiguous and also fuzzy, like when the subject in a photo is out of focus.

June 14, 2010 at 7:41 AMIn basketball, when a player scores a basket and he's fouled, there's always the question whether the foul took place before or while he was shooting. If he was fouled before, the basket doesn't count. I think the narrators say, while waiting for the ruling from the refs:
does it count or doesn't it? - suànbùsuànshì? - 算不算是？
计算器 - jìsuànqī - calculator
I am old enough to have used an abacus when I was little! 算盘 - suànpán - abacus. Are they still used in China or elsewhere to teach children math?
