March 5, 2012 at 5:22 PM请问，这个老婆的发音代表北方的”儿话“。 当她说， "你这个人缺心眼儿"的时候，我实在有困难听清楚。
我听到，“ni nei ge rar qu xi yar". My feeling is, the only way that someone would understand this is to be comepletely comfortable with this set phrase given the right context. Besideds the added 儿 to 心眼， there is also an invisible 儿 added to 人. I lived in Shanghai for a while so I'm not entirely used to the 儿话， so how does 儿话 work? It seems they had 儿 to every noun in the sentence?? I'm a little frightened to travel to Harbin this year because of that!

March 3, 2012 at 8:20 PMNow I have a question about this dialogue. John spoke well in saying "跟她做“ doesn't mean anything sexual or inapropiate. Considering Lao Wang and his friend cannot see the dialogue transcript like we can, how does Lao Wang know for sure that ”她“ is a female? since the tones and pronounciation is the same, does this ever cause problems? Perhaps if Lao Wang took the offer, would he be surprised to find that the person was in fact a woman?
Not trying to be smart here, but I didn't realize the person was a woman until John said "she". ( I don't read the transcript till the second time around)

March 3, 2012 at 6:51 PM在expansion里有这句话，"我的签证到期了，得去延期" 这里的“到期”是dao4 qi1, 不过当我mouse over“延期”的时候就发现 yan2 qi2. 到期和延期的“期”怎么不同的声调？
