January 13, 2011 at 6:28 AM三藩市/sānfānshì is used in Taiwan and Hongkong. 旧金山/jiùjīnshān is used on the maindland. But a lot of people know both terms.

January 13, 2011 at 6:26 AMI watched Anthony Bourdain's show once where he featured Flushing. He said it's New York's "new Chinatown", mainly comprised of people from the mainland. Having lived in Australia, I can speak to the fact that many cities now have "new Chinatowns" populated by immigrants from other parts of China rather than Canton.

December 31, 2010 at 4:28 AMMy home pimple remedy: a mix of Chinese white vinegar plus water. (9 parts of water, 1 part of vinegar). Spray lightly on face everyday. It has to do with pH I guess.
