December 8, 2011 at 3:38 AMVerb+过 describes a past experience, e.g. 你吃过烤鸭吗？你去过中国吗？You should not put 了 in the sentence. Verb+过+了 describes a completed action that took place. So ‘你遇到过志愿者了吗" implies you should have met volunteers, did you? The nuance is different.

December 2, 2011 at 5:23 AMFixed. A lot of the words I used in the podcast that are not in the dialog are "teaching" words such as “接下来/jiēxiàlai/next up”，“分析/fēnxī/to analyze”，“词语/cíyǔ/words”，“词组/cízǔ/words and phrases”。
In intermediate, a lot of users struggle with this type of words. So we did a few Qing Wens to address them:
