xuanzang,

That's a brilliant illustration of the difference in our humor. I always associate Mr. Bean with visa renewal since immigration offices in both Singapore and Australia showed it in their waiting room.

I read an interesting survey about 'sneaky' behaviours in the office in China. Top 5 are:

1) chatting, QQ, MSN

2) online shopping

3) downloading movies and TV

4) job hunting

5) trading stocks

Right now though, it's all about the Olympics. I check online report incessantly. Too bad most of the online TV coverage is IE based.

熊猫眼/panda eyes refers to dark circles under eyes. Bags under eyes is 眼袋/yan3 dai4.

Glad you guys like this lesson. I used to think office politics is characteristically Chinese, but after watching the Office, I figure it's universal.

A side note about shower, which many of you might already know: Chinese take showers at night lest we contaminate the scared clean bed (a quote from my mom).

Dashan, cross talk perforamer, media personality and the most famous contemporary Canadian in China was in the Canadian delegation during the Opening Ceremony.

I think besides team China and president Hu jintao, Vladimir Putin and Kobe Bryant got the loudest cheer. A great epitome of China's past and present.

Wow, warlords were addicted to 石头,剪刀,布!Nowadays, it's hard to think anyone beyond the age of 10 doing it.

上海基本上已经没有过鬼节的现象了。可能因为是移民城市,每个团体有自己的习俗,比较分散,所以很难保持下来。

It seems that the property management in my building sold the residents' phone numbers to nearby real estate agents. People in the building always get calls from them asking if we want to lease or sell our apartments.
