philren,

Unless you are literally catching fish with your hands, we don't use 抓/zhua1 in the context of fishing (although it does mean to catch) . The most common verb to use is 钓/diao4, which literally means to use a hook to hoist something which describes using a  fishing rod to fish. 'I have caught a fish' is 我钓到鱼了/wo3 diao4 dao4 yu2 le/.  到 here means you have taken something into your possession. For example, 我赚到很多钱/ wo3 zhuan4 dao4 hen3 duo1 qian2/ I have made a lot of money or 我学到很多东西/wo3 xue2 dao4 hen3 duo1 dong1 xi/I have learnt a lot.

我非常喜欢这集节目。用北京话说,李敖、吴宗宪都很“贫嘴”,就是说话很犀利、尖锐。(也很幽默)。

So many stories about visa. I used to only think it was  a headache for Chinese going or living overseas. But, it is a hassel universally.

Can you work in China under a visa that's not a work visa?

There are preschools that teach 2-year-olds English and charge 150RMB an hour. And most baby formula claim that they boost brain develpoment and make your baby smart.

davidkaneda,

Yes, absolutely. Parents and grandparents only fear that they are not being careful enough.

panny888,

Yes, there is 30% surcharge after 11 pm in Shanghai. I expect the same for Beijing. Do you have an advertising touchscreen in taxis there? In Shanghai, many taxis are equipped with a scree on the back of passenger seat next to the driver. I know it is all advertising, but it is done pretty engagingly.

The graphic is like neverland. You will never get from here to anywhere.

Speaking of taxis, if you come from North America or Europe or any developed economies, you will find taxi fare so cheap in China. A flagfall of 11 RMB (1.4 USD) covers 3 km in Shanghai. And every additional km is 2 RMB. An average ride in town is around 20-30 RMB.But a trip from Shanghai's Pudong airport to the city (which is in the outskirts of the city) will set you back at around 150RMB .

Note that prices are different in different cities in China. Most other cities are slightly cheaper than Shanghai.
