You are correct. The standard pronunciation is "Z+way", not "Z+wee". Teachers are wrong sometimes.

"root for" is 支持/zhīchí，e.g. I root for Italy. Wǒ zhīchí Yìdàlì. 我支持意大利。

At 8'56, we were explaining the word 容纳/róngnà. I said 容纳就是可以, and John quickly picked up with "hold". "可以hold", not the most standard explanation, but 这就是容纳的意思。

To be precise, 收 means "to receive"; 接受 means "to accept".

收 is mostly used for tangible objects like presents, letters, and also email.

接受 is used for abstract concepts, e.g. 接受我的感情/accept my love.
