May 25, 2009 at 3:23 AM@bababardwan, ordinary people are willing to have girls! The parents don't need to worry about buying an apartment for their son. In China, it's universally acknowledged that a man should have an apartment before getting married. That's why many parents would buy their son an apartment with their life savings. But for the parents who have a girl, things are easier! :)

May 25, 2009 at 2:38 AM@mark, of course not! No that kind of mother-in-law nowadays! This is not in feudal society. The two families of the couple will love (even spoil) the baby no matter it's a boy or a girl! So far as I know, girls are preferred! One of my best friends frowned when she got to know she was having a son!

May 25, 2009 at 2:25 AM@monica5, that maybe a little bit too straight, if you tell them: 我要把头发烫直,you'll get a perm and your hair would be perfertly straight. "烫" means "get a perm", not "to burn" here! Don't worry! :) If you don't want it so straight, you can say: 我想要自然直的头发 Wǒ xiǎngyào zìrán zhí de tóufa

May 22, 2009 at 10:25 AM@miantiao, 我同意你的说法!用尿布,又环保,对宝宝的皮肤又好 。“尿不湿”,就是像pampers一样的东西!

May 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM@miantiao, 现在很少的父母会给孩子用尿布了,一般都用尿不湿!
