Posted on: 会 (Huì) and 能 (Néng) Face-off
August 2, 2010 at 8:44 AMI already knew they had that general meaning but I didn't think I could follow that "allowed" and "permitted" rule that strictly. I suppose it doesn't constitute a whole Qingwen. Just because I've heard people answer 能 questions with 可以 and so on. I guess I always thought the 能 and 可以 difference was more difficult to understand than the 会 and 能 difference, that's why I wondered if there was a Qingwen on it. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

August 1, 2010 at 10:51 PM"他不会来了,你不用等他了" are the 了 in this sentence used to imply he was going to come but he's not coming anymore and you don't have to wait for him anymore?

July 27, 2010 at 10:02 AMso why don't you add 了 to every 刚才 sentence?

July 26, 2010 at 9:30 AMWhy wouldn't you add 了 with every 刚才 sentence? Just cause I thought 刚才 would always imply a completed action

So you think there should be a 了 in the sentence then? That's odd that they didn't add it, maybe it depends on context
