November 6, 2007 at 9:59 PMWow. I just discovered chingwen. This is great!!! I have a suggestion (you probably have a lot already). I was talking with a Chinese freind of mine (in Chinese) and I found that I was getting 不 and 没有 mixed up. So I asked him when do I use each of these since they both can mean (as far as I can tell) not or have not. He said it was complex and even Chinese people are hard pressed to explain it. So, maybe that would be a good topic for these lessions. Or maybe I just don't know what I am talking about.

October 25, 2007 at 2:19 PMThis lesson sort of sounded like a song sung by Frank Sinatra. New Yorkers tend to think of themselves as the center of the universe while we in Chicago think the town is rather over blown. Chicago also has a wonderful Chinatown (two actually). This may be similar to the Beijing, Shanghai rivalry except neither is a political center and we both think we are economic centers.

October 5, 2007 at 2:32 PMI have to say, that while the "love triangle" topic is a bit silly it affords a fantastic array of vocabulary and sentence syntax that is sometimes absent from other pod casts. This is a great series.. keep it up.

September 5, 2007 at 4:29 PMIt is interesting that in this lesson Ken and Jenny were trying to come up with a word that describes someone with a personality that is hútu. In the US at least we call these people "flakey".

July 12, 2007 at 1:57 PMI have a question for everyone not directly related to this lession. How many people, who do not live in a Chinese speaking country , have been able to become resonably fluent in Chinese using just Chinese pod or similar study methods? By resonable fluency I mean that you can talk to a native speaker about normal everyday things (no deep philsophical discussions). If you have been able to do this how long did it take and did you find a native speaker to practice with or did you learn it completely on your own? Chris
